Welcome to AI-CV B.V. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These General Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our AI-powered CV builder (“Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. ABOUT US

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES
2.1 AI-Powered CV Builder. We offer an online, browser-based platform allowing you to generate or customize CVs (“Content”) through artificial intelligence (“AI”) and user inputs.
2.2 Free to Build, Pay to Download. You may preview your CV free of charge. You only pay when you decide to download the final CV.
2.3 Third-Party Integrations. We use APIs provided by third parties, including LinkedIn (to import user data) and OpenAI (to generate AI-based text). Your use of these integrations may be subject to the terms and policies of the respective third parties.
2.4 No Account Required. You do not need to create an account to use our Services. You will, however, be prompted to provide your email address for certain functionalities, such as receiving your final CV or payment receipts.
3. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS
3.1 Binding Agreement. By accessing or using our Services, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
3.2 Age Requirement. There is no formal age restriction to use our Services; however, if you are under 18 or a minor in your place of residence, you may only use our Services under the supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3.3 Privacy & Cookie Notices. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy are integrated into these Terms by reference. By using our Services, you consent to the collection and use of information as detailed therein.
4. PAYMENT TERMS
4.1 Payment Processing. Payment for downloading a CV is processed by Pay. B.V. (“Payment Processor”). By paying for the CV, you agree to the Payment Processor’s terms and any fees associated with the transaction.
4.2 Pricing. The price for downloading a CV will be displayed prior to payment. All prices are in [currency] and inclusive or exclusive of VAT as indicated.
4.3 No Subscription. There are no recurring subscriptions. Each CV download is a one-off transaction.
4.4 No Refunds. Once you have paid to download your CV, we do not offer refunds, given that you can preview the CV in advance and only pay if you are satisfied.
5. DATA STORAGE & RETENTION
5.1 User-Provided Data. We collect certain user-provided data (e.g., text you enter to build your CV, information from LinkedIn if you connect via LinkedIn’s API).
5.2 Retention Period. We store user-provided data for up to one (1) year, after which we securely delete it from our systems.
5.3 No Long-Term Profile. Since there is no account system, we do not create or maintain permanent user profiles.
6. AI-GENERATED CONTENT & DISCLAIMERS
6.1 Nature of AI. Our Services use AI to generate textual suggestions for your CV. AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, errors, or may not reflect the most up-to-date information.
6.2 User Responsibility. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using or relying on it. We do not guarantee the correctness, completeness, or suitability of AI outputs.
6.3 No Employment Guarantee. Using an AI-generated CV does not guarantee job placement or any employment outcome. You remain responsible for the quality and accuracy of the CV you ultimately choose to use.
7. THIRD-PARTY API & SERVICES
7.1 LinkedIn & OpenAI. Our Services integrate with LinkedIn’s API to import data and OpenAI’s API to generate text. We are not liable for changes, discontinuation, accuracy, or performance of those APIs.
7.2 No Liability for Third Parties. We are not responsible for any acts, omissions, or policies of third-party service providers. Your use of these integrations is at your own risk and subject to their separate terms.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
8.1 Our Software. All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services, including the software, design, text, graphics, and AI functionality, are owned by AI-CV B.V. or our licensors.
8.2 Permitted Use. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-transferable, and revocable right to use our Services solely for creating and downloading CVs.
8.3 Prohibited Conduct. You agree not to (a) reverse-engineer or modify our software; (b) use the Services for illegal or unauthorized purposes; or (c) infringe our intellectual property rights or those of our licensors.
9. ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
9.1 Prohibited Activities. You must not use the Services to:
Upload or disseminate content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, or illegal.
Transmit viruses, malware, or any destructive code.
Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Services.
9.2 User-Generated Content. Any information you submit or upload must be accurate, lawful, and not violate any third-party rights.
10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
10.1 As Is. The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
10.2 No Guarantee. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the AI-generated content will meet your expectations.
10.3 Preview Before Payment. You have the opportunity to preview AI-generated CV content. We disclaim liability for any outcome arising from your decision to proceed with the download.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
11.1 Indirect Damages. In no event will AI-CV B.V. be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11.2 Maximum Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to us in connection with the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11.3 Third-Party Services. We are not responsible for any acts or omissions of third-party providers (e.g., LinkedIn, OpenAI, Payment Processor). Use of third-party services is at your own risk.
12. DISPUTE RESOLUTION & GOVERNING LAW
12.1 Governing Law. These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without reference to conflict-of-laws principles.
12.2 Arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, including their interpretation or performance, shall be settled by arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands. If arbitration is not available or not mandatory in your jurisdiction, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in The Hague, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
12.3 Language of Proceedings. All proceedings shall be conducted in English unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
13. MODIFICATIONS TO THESE TERMS
13.1 Right to Update. We may modify these Terms from time to time at our sole discretion.
13.2 Effective Date. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of revised Terms indicates your acceptance of the changes.
14. FORCE MAJEURE
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, strikes, or utility failures.
15. MISCELLANEOUS
15.1 No Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights hereunder without our prior written consent.
15.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
15.3 Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with any referenced policies (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy), constitute the entire agreement between you and AI-CV B.V. regarding your use of the Services.
15.4 No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not operate as a waiver of such right or provision.
